Exclamation Installed billet gas cap pics..

Got it off eBay, love the look. Very easy to install, custom made for the HD. No drilling, cutting, running to Lowe's or red neck/duct tape engineering needed. It took about 20 minutes.

Here's some pics of it installed,

Atleast when I finally get ready to do some speed/hi-po mods all my appearance mods will be bought, paid for, and completed. Of course by that time (3yr/36K) the Next Gen Lightning might be out and I can just trade the HD in for the ultimate world class turn-key supertruck

Looks great! Thats the 1st truck i've seen where i actually really like the billet gas cap. Don't like how they usually stick out on dark color trucks, but on the silver it looks great ;d

Those look so cool on the two tone 03's. I like them on the DSG 02's too. They look to BIG on any of the black trucks...

I found one of those like that with the magnet catch at a truck accesory store in IN in the town where my sister lives. Asked what the price was as it was not marked. Dude at the counter said $30 It was the satin, and I was wanting the polished. I didn't buy it since I had already spent way too much money that weekend, but wish I had, even if it was just to list it on ebay and triple my money. I am not sure where the ebay sellers are getting theirs, but they are making a killing on them.

    Mako,

There are tons of them, most are made overseas and are nowhere near as nice as this one. I have seen cheaper ones as well and wanted a custom made cap.

This isn't one of those cheap APC caps that you see on the rice burners. This one is nicer than Ford's cap. It is made by All Sales Billet Accessories in Shingle Springs California. Model #6050.

It is high quality thick brushed billet.

    HDsup,

Remove the old door by taking out the 2 screws, and pull out the rubber stops. Remove the gas cap from the old door arm.

Then you install the supplied billet mounting bracket to the spot where the rubber stops were with the included sheet metal screws and washers. The screws should be fiberglass screws as there is no sheet metal.

Install the magnetic latch assembly to the inside of the gas door ring so the magnet catches the door.

Install 2 washers and 2 nuts on the studs of the gas door ring.

Slide the door and 2 studs into the opening so the gas cap is flush with the body and check your fit. Then reach in and install the other 2 washers and screws, this is tricky as it is a tight fit with your hand in the small opening.

I tightened them by hand using just the tiny socket. That secures the left side of the door. To secure the right side you will take the 2 supplied allen bolts and attach them through the gas door ring to the mounting bracket you installed first.

In the body opening of the gas door there is a drain hole in case you over flow with gas while pumping. I took the gas cap and it's black plastic tether and plugged it into that drain hole to secure the cap as you see in the pics.

If you were to overflow gas at the pump it would still drain out as there is a big opening in body, but I decided to drill a small hole next to where I mounted the cap just in case.

It works fine like that, you could just cut the plastic tether off the cap and have your cap loose.

    That's it.

It doesn't look bad at all. The logo looks great too. I had considered one myself, but after seeing them in person, I thought they looked kinda big on a black truck. I saw a two-tone 03 a couple days ago with one on, and thought to myself as it went by"that looks much better on a two-tone than on black.

Don't get me wrong, I still think black HD are the best looking...
