    Fiberglass Hood??????

I am interested in a Cervini hood that came off a wrecked truck......the only damage to the hood is a chunk about the size of a quarter missing. If the price was right, would it be worth it to buy and would it be fixable. I want it to look as though it never had a chunk missing after it is fixied.....that is if it can be fixied in the first place. Also, what would be the most you would pay for a hood with this kinda damage.

BTW.....the hood is black and is going on a DSG truck, so it would have to be painted anyways.

    Thanks

    Mark

Mark, if its a Cervini (embossed on the bottom usually) its worth the repair. In my opinion, there is NOT a better made Fiberglass hood on the planet. Figure 2-3 hours of repair & paint/clear + materials. So approx $250-300 to repair & paint... minimum. on top of your purchase price.

cervinis hoods are 439 new, or something right around there. if you can get it dirt cheap, definately grab it if you like the hood style.
figure probably around 300 to paint with fixing the hole, depending on body shop rates around you.

cervini's hoods are pretty good quality. definately a very sturdy hood, but the fit is only pretty good. The cowl hoods seem to fit better on our trucks, all the lines and seams line up pretty well, but the ram air hoods seem to have a slightly larger fender gaps, and the leading edge doesnt line up exactly with the grille surround. just the mold used for the fiberglass ram air hoods arent as well measured out as the cowl ones. nothing huge, but it bugged me enough to sell it for a Keyston ram air hood. they run around 700 unpainted, and the price difference can definately be seen in the improved fit and finish.

Well, just found out the holes where it bolts down were stripped on one side also. It is definetly a Cervivni's Cowl Hood. Today he asked me to make him an offer, and now I am not sure If I should.......what is a good offer with the damage done? Or should I just walk away?

Cervinis are good and heavy for sure. Great quality and if the price is right $200 or so I'd have to say I would think about getting one damaged.
I had Cervnins ram air hood on my old Lightning looked awesome!

That's what I tell everyone. The most that can happen is he says no. The best?...he says sure why not.
