Heard back from the overlay place this morning. Can't believe they responded that quickly and I'm already impressed with their customer service. Their email to me:

    Hi Mike-

Yes, we do group purchases for website forums. Please let me write you
back later today with more info as i am pressed for time at the
    moment.

I'll post more info as it comes in.

Aight, heard back from Roger at Devries Signs.........and here's the straight poop:

    Hey "Snake"

Nice website!! I read the thread and some other ones by searching
    "overlays"...

I'm sure I could take good care of you guys, as long as everyone is
PATIENT. My non-domed overlays usually get shipped with 1-5 days or
so, but domed stuff can take 1-2 weeks. This is because I only dome
once or twice per week, plus the domed overlays need to cure for a few
    days before handling.

I also have a decent "following" on a couple of the other big F150
sites, and do work for alot of their members. There is always talk of
a GP, but so far I haven't done any- just single, individual orders.

One thing to know is that in-house I only DIE CUT decals, so there are
some limitations because of that. For instance, some designs would be
way too small and intricate to be able to die cut with my plotter. My
HD one is no problem for any grill/tailgate emblem, however i would
NOT be able to die cut that same design in a steering wheel overlay.

    http://www.zr2usa.com/Decals/FordEmb...romeChrome.jpg

I DO however work i conjunction with another sign guy that PRINTS
orders for me on his "Gerber Edge" digital printer. They need to be
decent size orders though, but it IS an option. Here is an example of
my own website decals that I have him print for me which I dome and
    give away to my members:

    http://www.zr2usa.com/zr2usastuff/DomedZR2USA5Color.jpg

Sorry it's a Chevy site...lol. I have owned many Fords in the past
though, and just a few weeks ago bought a personal plow truck: an 83
f150 cab built on a 71 Hi Boy chassis. It has a rebuilt 360 and it's
    really in great shape!

    But I digress..

I also have a construction business, so the internet decal thing is
just a "side" thing. My GF does about %80 on my eBay sales now and I
do all of my custom orders. I am actually going to start framing my
buddies large house THIS Monday, and I'm afraid i won't be available
during the weekdays to answer emails for the next few MONTHS as i am
also doing the roofing; siding; decks; painting; trim (maybe even
    taping if I want).

So if everyone is patient with me, I will certainly treat them right
and ALWAYS give them %100 satisfaction when it comes to their
purchases. I have never screwed anyone over yet, and don't have any
    plans to in the future.

    Anyway- I'm starting a NOVEL here...heheh.

Here are some links if you want to post them.

    My pictures:

    http://www.zr2usa.com/Decals/

    My eBay store:

    http://stores.ebay.com/DeVries-Signs...enameZl2QQtZkm

To give you an idea for my domed overlay pricing:

    2-color 04-05 Grill or Tail overlays= $18 each
    2-color Steering wheel overlays= $6 each
2-color wheel center cap overlays= $20 for set of 4

    Package deal for all 7 domed 2-color overlays= $55

    ====================

    2-color 99-03 F150 and 99-04 F250/350 Grill overlays= $15 each
    2-color 99-03 F150 and 99-04 F250/350 Tailgate overlays= $12 each
    2-color Steering wheel overlays= $6 each
2-color wheel center cap overlays= $20 for set of 4

    Package deal for all 7 domed 2-color overlays= $47

    ==============

I would say that I could discount those prices a lot more if I had a
GP of 5 complete domed sets or more. If ALL orders were all the exact
SAME style/colors, the savings would be even greater. Just an idea.

    Thanks!
    Rog

I'm going to see if I can get him to give me a call and discuss custom overlays (making just one as well as making a sheet of a particular style) and also find out what he can do for the 05 Superduty. Understandably, I don't think anyone is going to want overlays for the centercaps on their wheels (rims, not steering wheel). Other stuff I plan on asking: if we buy x # of steering wheel overlays (different styles, but not custom), how much will they be? Same for grill and tailgate overlays. I'd say start getting your ideas together, I'll work with Rog (and Nan to get the GB approved through here), and when I have all my ducks in a row, I'll post the GB info. If I can make it work, and if its worth it for all involved (including the vendor).

I haven't checked out the prices to see if there's a big savings, so if you want to order directly so you don't have to wait, that's fine too. Although I'd encourage you to wait, simply because I'm going to put some time and effort into making this happen and I'd hate to see it be a waste.

I'll post more info as I get it.

Allright, I think I might have something worked out. I talked with Rog on the phone and got some incentives going, but before I PM Crockett and BigD with the details of the group buy and seek approval, I need some help with the size of the emblems.

Are the grill, tailgate, and steering wheel emblems the same size as regular F-150's from the same model year? Do they differ from year to year (ie, is the 2003 tailgate emblem a different size than an 02 or a 01 or 00?)

If ya'll got time to measure, I'd definitely like some feedback.

And I'm working with him on an overlay for the grill of the 05's. That thing is a monster and might not be capable of having a gel overlay made for it. I'm going to do what I can.

Like I said, I talked with Rog just a little bit ago and he seems like a GREAT guy. He was even concerned about stepping on toes over here---didn't want to take an idea or design (or a product, for that matter) that a current or former SV had made. I told him that as far as I know, we don't have any SV's that are making gel overlays and the designs I've seen have been stuff pulled from the internet (the Harley-Ford alliance logo, Fast, SVT, etc.). Am I wrong?

I wonder if we could substitute the wheel center cap ones for one to fit our drivers side seat chrome lumbar knob? I've seen some guys put a round one in the middle of it and it looked pretty sweet. Just a thought.

grille emblem on the 97-03 f150, harley f150, and lightning are all the same size
tailgate emblem on the 97-03 f150, harley f150, and lightning are all the same size

i believe the superduty grille emblem is slightly bigger, but i'm almost positive the tailgate embelm is the same size since they all use the same tailgate (f150, 250, 350, etc)

and i'm serious about the "FU*K" overlay for a grille emblem blue background and chrome lettering lol
